About Yolanda Darricarrere

Founder of AID Trans-Network

Yolanda Darricarrere has nearly 20-yrs in technical and stakeholder communications, project management, and PMO support for OCIO and IT governance shops in federal agencies, domestically and internationally. In the '90s, Yolanda deemed herself an infopreneur and launched her consultancy business, AID Trans-Network, in 1998. The initial focus was geared towards her academic expertise in foreign affairs, international development, and US foreign-service diplomacy, covering global industry news and reporting in such areas as fiber optics (the AfricaOne project), Intelsat, foreign ministries, and many others. After the tragic events of 9-11, her professional work shifted to focus more specifically on US federal agency initiatives in the federal IT contracting space. First as a technical writer, then SharePoint consultant, then IT policy and governance. Agencies include the Veterans Affairs Administration, then PensionBenefit Guaranty Corporation, followed by US Army Corps of Engineers, Dept. of Defence, and later at FTC, FDIC, and Department of Commerce. Other agencies include The SmithsonianInstitution and the Architect of the Capitol (AOC).

Yolanda holds a B.A. from the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), as a double major in Foreign Languages (French) and Geography (Cartography and Urban Studies). Prior to pursuing her Master's studies, she also participated in Summer Study programs at HunterCollege, in NYC (Urban Geography) and at Howard University, in WDC (Foreign ServiceOfficer/Diplomacy). She pursued her initial Master's degree at McGill University, in Montreal, Canada, specializing in Economic and Industrial Geography. Just recently, Yolanda completed two Masters programs in Information Systems Security Management (Strayer University) and C ybersecurity Policy Management (University of Maryland Global Campus)
